AMIGO - Possibly the sweetest dog ever! Amigo came to us from a scrap yard in Mexico after a car ran over him, botched surgeries on his legs, and severe malnutrition. He collapsed in our laps upon his rescue. Today he is a big, strong boy who leaps straight up off the ground to celebrate time with friends!
Favorite Things: running around the yard at full speed, sleeping in bed with us, his tiny brother Ears. Special Talent: non-stop tail wagging (It only stops while he is sleeping!) |
BABYMAN - Formerly known as Monkey. He was the tiniest kitten of all the kittens in the kitty room at East Valley Shelter. A year later, he is one of the biggest black kitties you have ever seen! And one of the sweetest too!
Favorite Things: the food bowl, knocking over any drink he can find, and Hanky, Jude’s beagle/dachshund mix Special Talent: gives kisses on demand |
BUTTERCUP - We at TTFF are not in favor of exotics as pets, but we got a call about an iguana at the East Valley Shelter who had been someone's pet and was not cared for properly. She is a green iguana but, at the time, she was brown due to poor care and malnourishment. She also had a deformed jaw due to malnourishment. So… Tiger Frances to the rescue! Buttercup has made a glorious addition to the foster house and is back to her healthy, glowing green color.
Favorite Things: grapes, bath time, having her own room in the Tiger Frances house Special Talent: escape artist |
EARS MORTIMER - We got a call from a woman who couldn’t take her dogs to her new home. A sweet little boy Chihuahua, who was unnamed, was one of them. When we met him, he was (ahem) all ears. No really. He's all ears! Just look at those babies! We told him we would find him a great home with lots of love, and he became our next foster fail. He now lives with his brother Amigo at the TTFF foster house and spreads love and joy through the Love On Paws program.
Favorite Things: playing tough with his toys, cuddles, stealing Amigo’s toys so Amigo will chase him Special Talent: cooking (especially the taste-testing/floor-cleaning part) |
FURRYBOOTS - Formerly known as Beatrice. We found Boots and her litter at the East Valley Shelter but couldn’t take her right then. When we returned a week later, Boots scolded us with meows for making her wait!
Favorite Things: attacking feet, hiding in and destroying boxes of any kind, cuddles Special Talents: being tiny, chatting up a storm |
JESSE the Social Turtle - This guy lives life to the fullest. We rescued him when his family moved & could not take him. He is allowed to roam our foster house at will and loves hanging out with the cats and the people. He only retreats to a cat bed in the closet when he needs a snooze.
Favorite Things: watching TV on top of one of his cats, socializing with all the Love On Paws kids, bath time, shrimp Special Talent: making as much noise as possible (He thinks it’s hilarious to crash around the house constantly!) |
MISSY – Missy is our newest addition to the foster house! She was hungry and neglected when we found her and now she is a ball of healthy energy and joy. She recently made her Love on Paws debut and she was a huge hit! She loves her brothers, Ears and Amigo and they play nonstop. Missy is all love.
Favorite Things: Hanging with Ears and Amigo, treats, people Special Talent: Being the cutest thing ever |
PEANUT - Peanut was found running around the streets of downtown Los Angeles. She had a bite mark on her back and was very thin. We decided to foster her while we looked for a home, but 48 hours later, Peanut was a foster fail. She’s now a permanent member of the Love On Paws team.
Favorite Things: long walks on the beach, puppacinos at Starbucks, kisses Special Talents: hiding treats to save for later |
SCOUTY – Formerly known as Ken. We found him curled up in a tight little ball, alone, in the back of a cage at the Burbank Animal Shelter. At 4 pounds, he was skin and bones, and oh so quiet. He was found in the Ikea parking lot with pneumonia and a crushed pelvis. He couldn’t use his hind legs very well and walked holding them up in the air. He’d been at the shelter a long time and had given up hope. He was so withdrawn, we weren’t sure he’d ever connect with a human again, but we took him home anyway and gave him some of our hope. He now weighs 10 pounds and walks on all fours with just an occasional skip! And he loves so big, he’s like a different dog!
Favorite Things: clean blankets, dirty laundry Special Talent: champion tail-wagger |
