For several years, we’ve partnered with School on Wheels, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) program dedicated exclusively to the educational needs of homeless students from kindergarten through 12th grade. It’s the only organization in Southern California helping these sweet students. It was founded by retired school teacher Agnes Stevens, who understands the unique challenges these students face. And Miss Allison, head teacher at SOW, has developed Love On Paws curriculum for us. Read on to learn more about this visit and see adorable photos! We love working with SOW! Some of the kids began our visit afraid of animals, but by the end, they just couldn’t get enough furry bellies, slobbery kisses, and turtle shenanigans. The kids have taken to Our Animals quickly and enjoy our writing and drawing assignments centered around them. Jesse the turtle was a big hit! We can’t wait to go back for another visit with School on Wheels! For more wonderful images of this visit, check out the gallery below!
